PREPARATION

The Magnet of Opportunity

Prepare : fix. Make ready or suitable or equip in advance for a particular purpose or for some use, event, etc;

Magnet: A substance, usually metallic, that has the ability to attract similar substances with a force that is not electric or gravitational.

What is God saying in 2008?

I don’t claim to know everything that God is up to in this year 2008. But I do know a few things that I believe will help many of you get out of the pews and into purpose.

Every year for the past four years, God has given me a directive dream for that year. The dream has always come on the first day of the first month. Well, this year the first dream was about being prepared for great opportunities. I mean BIG! BIG! BIG!

In the dream I was an overseer of a library. You could tell I was working diligently. Everything was running smoothly in the library. There was a woman who had been watching me oversee this library and obviously was impressed. She was so impressed that she offered me a major position in her corporation. She told me six things that I had to do for the position. She even showed me an example of how it should be done. Well, I asked her to come back the next day @3:30 and I would have everything ready. I went back to work. The next day an investor was in the library telling me he wanted to invest in what I was doing. He offered me a lot of money but I didn’t have a peace about it. At 3:30 the lady came back expecting me to have the things she had asked for. But I wasn’t ready. She looked at me sort of disappointed but I could tell she still wanted me to run this corporation.

As a prophetic voice in the Body of Christ, I knew the dream didn’t just apply to me. It was for me, the ministries we oversee, and other brothers and sisters in the Body, that God would lead us to share this word with.

In this mighty season of “great opportunities”, one of the things we must do is Prepare! Every area that I am prepared for puts me in the position to seize the opportunity. If I am not prepared, it doesn’t mean the opportunities won’t come, but most likely I won’t be able to seize them.

Read the following story.

Matthew 25:1-13 (New International Version)

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

 1"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

2Five of them were foolish and five were wise.

3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.

4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.

5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

 6"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'

 7"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'

 9" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'

 10"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

 11"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'

 12"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'

 13"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Personal Experience:

After I had my second son, I desired a daughter. So, the day my son was born, I spoke out of my mouth, “Three years from now, I will have a daughter. She will have dimples like her daddy, and curly hair. From that day forth I would say, “I am having a daughter. She will have dimples like her daddy and curly hair”.  I started preparing three years in advance.

Well, in 1998, three years later,  I went to the doctor one afternoon and found out I was pregnant. Of course the doctor didn’t know yet if it was a boy or a girl. But I told my doctor, that I knew. I would be having a girl with dimples and curly hair. Well, everyone told me that I should stop all this madness because it might be a boy, including my mother!! (she laughs about it now)  Some told me I was wasting money because I was buying all girl clothes.

What was wrong with me? Had I lost my mind? NO! NO! NO! I had tapped into the Law of Preparation, and didn’t even know it. I didn’t know that if a person desired something, they were to speak it, receive it, and act as if they already had it. Without even knowing it I was functioning under the power of a Kingdom principle.

Well, you know the rest of the story. My daughter was born in October 1998. Remember I told you that the day my son was born I spoke this? Well, my son was born October 5,1995. My daughter was born October 19, 1998. Exactly three years later, in the same month. Wow! Talk about Kingdom authority!!

Make a list of some things you would like to happen in your life this year.

Now, write down how you can prepare yourself to receive the things you desire.

Now let’s take a moment and look at what you wrote. Do you know what you want to accomplish this year? Do you know how to prepare for it?  

Ok, great let’s move forward.

I want you to say the following confession seven times:

1.        Preparation is the magnet of opportunity. Therefore today I decide to create the life I really want by preparing for it. I will no longer waste time nor give excuses. This is my life and God has a plan and a purpose for me. And I will fulfill it.

2008 is going to be an awesome year IF we decide today that we will prepare for the greatness that’s coming. Don’t make any more excuses, especially if you know it’s the will of God for your life.  Decide that you will no longer sit on the side lines of life chanting loudly, “ I want to do it, BUT, I don’t have enough money, I don’t have enough education, I don’t have enough help, I don’t have a husband or wife, I don’t have good credit, I don’t have this and I don’t have that”. My God STOP THE MADNESS!!!!. This is your life and it’s time to take it back. It’s time to move out of the land of a thousand excuses and begin preparing for the greatness that’s coming.
