Princeton's online dictionary defines brilliancy as a luster, or quality that outshines the usual. And that is exactly what God has done and is yet doing in my life. Clothing me with His amazing brilliance.

Most of you are familiar with my testimony. I was pregnant at 17. I had no mentorship, no direction, no guidance at all in my life. I was full of giftings, talents, and beauty but yet had no sense of purpose. I was surviving not thriving.

This is not an unfamiliar tune in the bible. Jacob was a trickster, Rahab was a prostitute, Gideon was a coward, Apostle Paul was a murderer. But yet God chose these individuals to place His magnificent brilliancy upon.

Have you ever asked yourself why were there so many name changes and garment changes in the bible? Well, the answer is simple. To go where God wants you to go and to do what God wants you to do requires that we be transformed into His divine image of glory, magnificence, and brilliancy. You can't represent the King of Kings with an old defeated, oppressed mentality. There must be a removal of the old name and garment which is synonymous with mentalities and identities. Garments clothe you and names define you.

One particular story that stands out in my mind is the story of Joseph. Joseph was Jacob's favorite son and he was a dreamer. Although Joseph's father loved him his brothers hated him. The bible says in Genesis 37:3-5 that Joseph was hated because their father  loved Joseph more than them and because Joseph was a dreamer. This hate drove his brothers to do the unimagineable. They stripped Joseph of the coat of many colors that their father Jacob had given him and threw him into a pit. They later lied to their father and told him that an evil beast had devoured him.

Although this had befallen Joseph, God was still with him. Joseph was taken to Egypt and was made overseer of Potiphar's house. The bible says that Potiphar recognized that God was with him and that everything he did prospered. But things changed when Potiphar's wife desired for Joseph to sleep with her. Joseph refused and Potiphar's wife retaliated by lying and saying that Joseph had tried to sleep with her.

Joseph was thrown into prison but the Lord was with him. He gave Joseph favour with the keeper of the prison and caused Joseph to prosper. God then began to use Joseph to interpret the dreams of  a butler and a baker. Little did Joseph know, he was being trained by the hand of God, sharpened in skill ,knowledge, and divine wisdom and insight. Joseph was being prepared for the master's use.

The story goes on and ultimately Joseph ends up interpreting Pharoah's dreams because his so called wise men and magicians could not. The story unfolds in Genesis chapter 41.  Joseph is brought out of the dungeon and he:

  1.  Shaved himself

  2. Changed his raiment (clothing)

  3. Came in unto Pharoah

The time had come for Joseph to leave the prison and rule in the palace just as his dreams foretold years before. Genesis 41:38-45 reads:

38 So Pharaoh asked them, "Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God  ?" 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you."  41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt." 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command,  and men shouted before him, "Make way  !" Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt. 44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt." 45 Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On,  to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.

Not only did Joseph's appearance change so did his clothing and his name. This clearly indicates a new spiritual birth. God removed his old garments and clothed him with His brilliancy. Joseph's name was changed to  Zaphenath-Paneah, which means saviour of the universe, sustainer of life, revealer of secrets and codes.

The interesting thing about this story is that God had always been with Joseph. God's brilliancy could clearly be seen in the life of Joseph even as a young boy. This brilliancy continued to shine wherever Joseph was. The bible says because the Lord was with him he was favoured. Because the Lord was with him he prospered. Joseph was not favoured because he had five degrees. Joseph did not prosper because he was "all that". God had clothed Joseph with His brilliancy. If you remove God from the equation of Joseph's life trust me we wouldn't be reading about favour, prosperity, divine insight, etc. Matter of fact the story would be quite boring and rather depressing.

Over the past few years I have had a name change and a garment change. I have had to remove old mindsets, old words, old thoughts, raggedy worn out garments and replace them with with the mind of Christ and the clothing of divine royalty. I'm sure you get the picture. This transformation has moved me into greater levels of confidence, authority, innovation, creativity and manifestation. The new spiritual clothing that I wear is causing me to excel in whatever I do. I am now able to download whatever I need because of this new identity in Christ. I am walking in divine guidance and Spirit led victories are becoming common place in my life and in the lives of those around me. Financial secrets are being revealed, destiny codes are being unlocked, things that have been hidden are now unveiling right before my eyes. Kingdom strategies are resonating in my spirit. I feel empowered, I know I'm prosperous. Even when things don't look like they should, I know because of this divine nature how to program my life with the word of God and experience and a renewed sense of hope, fulfillment, direction, and change.  I am so glad that Father God has chosen me and clothed me with his divine brilliance.

Maybe your life doesn't look the way you'd like it to look. Maybe your confidence is at an all time low. Maybe you don't see yourself the way you would like to. All of these manifestations are clear indicators that God is not in the equation. Don't forget what I said earlier, remove God from your life's equation and you end up with nothing. Put God in the equation and voila brilliancy appears.

Thousands of Christians are dealing with this issue. So you're not alone. For years I was one of those dull defeated Christians with no vigor and shine. I'd go to church on Sunday morning; I would shout, praise God and then go home and argue, fight, and cuss. My life was dull and empty. Why? God was not in my life's equation. Yes, I went to church but that doesn't mean God is in the equation. Proof that God is in the equation is that one begins to experience joy, bliss, transformation, enlightment and innovation. One begins to hear and see from a divine perspective.

So, how can you become clothed with this divine brilliance? It's simple. John 14:14 tells us exactly what to do. "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."  Stop making this walk complicated with all these religious calastetics (I hope I spelled that right). Look it's time for us as believers to shake some things up in the world. It's time that we lead in the economic arena, shine in the entertainment arena, rule in the political arena. It's time for us to be clothed in the brilliancy of God.
